The PMU team has the following responsibilities in the NursEduPal@Euro project
- Co-lead in the development of performance assessment and (self)reflection tools for each of the innovative teaching methodologies (strategy effect measurements) to evaluate the acquisition of Palliative Care Core Competencies including spiritual care;
- We will review the training materials and support and strengthen the partnership for influencing policy;
- We will disseminate the outputs of the Project globally via the Global Network of World Health Organization Collaborating Centers for Nursing and Midwifes

Prof. Dr. Piret Paal

Piret Paal is a professor of palliative care. She currently works as the Director of the Institute of Palliative Care at Paracelsus Medical University in Salzburg, Austria. Her research interests include patient-centred care, palliative care education and spiritual care. She is the author and co-author of numerous peer-reviewed articles, scientific proceedings, books and book chapters. Prof. Dr. Paal has been a member of the European Association for Palliative Care since 2011. She is an active member of the EAPC’s Palliative Care Education Reference Group.

Cornelia Brandstötter
Project researcher
Cornelia Brandstötter is an educational/pedagogical scientist. Currently she is writing her doctoral thesis about the experience of alienment in the form of chronical illness. She is working as a coordinator for the WHO Collaborating Centre and as a research assistant at the department for nursing science and practice at the Paracelsus Medical University in Salzburg, Austria. Her main research interests are: palliative care, spiritual care, LGBTIQ+ in nursing, experiences of alienment in relation to (chronic) illness and education.
